We all have them from time to time. Generally speaking, we don’t plan them out or try to schedule them, but uncomfortable conversations are a part of everyone’s life. Speaking to someone about giving your organization assets based on their mortality should be an uncomfortable conversation…the first few times. 

After a few instances of “stepping on your own toes” (by the way we all do that at first), you’ll realize that your benefactor will be as comfortable with the Planned Giving conversation as you are. In fact, a lot of people you speak with expect to be asked about it. They might surprise you with their thoughts on the matter!

The best part is 400 annual gifts are roughly equivalent to one typical planned gift. Getting comfortable won’t take four hundred conversations though!
